A Stitch in Time
Today is my birthday! 27.
We got up, went to get donuts, and were off to the zoo!!! Despite the hot weather, we had a great time. Macy enjoyed it and Harper, well, she slept thru most of it. We came home at lunch time to eat and take naps then we planned on going back to the zoo for more fun. However, our plans changed. Macy was dancing with her Daddy and was spinning around being silly when she got dizzy and fell on the corner of the table. She busted her eye open. Poor thing. She had a nice little gash along with a bruise going down from her eye to her chin. We took her to the urgent care and they gave her one stitch. Boy, that was traumatic. They put her arms behind her in a pillow case then wrapped a sheet around her so she couldn't move. That is, she couldn't move anything but her head. She did not like it (I can't blame her) and she let us know. It just breaks your heart to see your little girl in so much pain. The doctor stitched her up and she was calm after they unwrapped her and gave her stickers. What a brave little girl! I'm sure her eye and bruise will look even worse in the morning. The doctor said we had to wake her up every 2 hours tonite to make sure she doesn't have a concussion. It might be a long nite. On the plus side, Philip can check his armadillo trap while he's up during the nite. We still haven't caught the rascal...yet!!
We got a new double stroller for the girls. They really liked it. It was handy when Harper kept spitting out her pacifier and Macy could put it back in.

That poor baby! And that poor baby's mama...I can't imagine how hard that was to watch! Happy Birthday!
i had that VERY SAME accident when i was her age, stiches and all. my scar is very small, but you can see it when i cry. it gets red. but, i will always remember it! i'm so sorry you had to go through that trauma. we missed you yesterday at macy's shower.

I'm so sorry to hear about Macy's eye!!!! At least you had a fun morning, and I'm realy impressed you planned for two zoo trips in one day. Happy Belated Birthday!!!!
It was good to talk to you...it has been a long time. I can't believe that they tied Macy's hands behind her back...I am 27 and would freak out. Poor baby! We can't wait for June to get here...we are super excited to come see you guys.
